Inspiring the Next Generation at Burnley’s Find Your Future Event

On Wednesday, our General Manager Nicole and Apprentice IT Technician Josh represented Rapid IT at the Find Your Future careers event, held at Burnley Football Club.

The event brought together over 1,200 Year 11 students from schools across Burnley, giving them the chance to explore life after school — from apprenticeships and college courses to different career paths across local industries.

For Rapid IT, it was a brilliant opportunity to showcase what an IT apprenticeship looks like in real life, from hands-on work repairing and refurbishing technology, to helping reduce electronic waste and supporting our mission to make tech go further.

We spoke with so many students interested in IT, technology, and sustainability, and just as many who were still unsure of their next step, which is completely normal at 17. Our message was simple: you don’t need to have it all figured out yet. What matters most is curiosity, effort, and a willingness to learn.

We left the event feeling proud of Burnley’s young people and excited for the future of local talent. At Rapid IT, we’re committed to helping the next generation find their path, and proving that with hard work and the right support, the world really is your oyster.
