Charities We Support

Making IT go further for people, communities, and the planet

For over a decade, we have worked closely with charities, schools, and community organisations to extend the life of IT equipment, support education, and help organisations operate more effectively with limited resources.

Rapid iT Team

Our approach to charitable impact

Our charity support focuses on four core principles:

  • Reuse first – extending the life of IT wherever possible
  • Practical outcomes – usable equipment, not token gestures
  • Long-term relationships – ongoing support, not one-off donations
  • Transparency – clear reporting of what was donated, and where

Where appropriate, this includes:

  • Donated laptops, desktops, and peripherals
  • Supplying parts and consumables to keep charities operational
  • Purchasing equipment from charities to support their running costs
  • Personally delivering equipment where it adds the most value

Reusing IT

Our long-term charity partner of 10+ years

Reusing IT is a UK-based charity dedicated to reducing digital exclusion and electronic waste by refurbishing and redistributing IT equipment to those who need it most.

Rapid IT has proudly supported Reusing IT for over 10 years through a combination of financial support, equipment supply, and practical assistance.

How We Support
Reusing IT

We support Reusing IT in four simple ways:

  • Regularly purchasing refurbished equipment from Reusing IT to provide direct financial support for their operations
  • Donating keyboards, mice, cables, and accessories to help them build complete systems
  • Supplying hard drives over many years to support refurbishment and secure data handling
  • Maintaining a long-term working relationship focused on sustainability and continuity

This partnership ensures that usable IT remains in circulation, supports employment within the charity, and helps cover the real-world costs of running a reuse organisation.

We have worked closely with Rapid IT and David Bannister for many years, and the relationship has always been built on practical, long-term support rather than one-off gestures. Rapid IT has consistently purchased refurbished equipment from Reusing IT, providing vital income that helps cover the day-to-day running costs of the charity and allows us to continue our work tackling digital exclusion.

Alongside this, Rapid IT has supported us with donated peripherals and components such as keyboards, mice, cables, and hard drives, helping us complete systems and maximise reuse. David has also been personally involved over the years, regularly travelling to Scotland to collect and drop off equipment, ensuring everything is handled efficiently and responsibly.

This ongoing partnership has made a genuine difference to the sustainability of Reusing IT and the communities we support.

FEW Charity

Education and International Impact

The Furniture for Education Worldwide Charity works to improve education and opportunities for children and communities overseas.

Through FEW Charity, Rapid IT has supported Bijilo Nursery School by providing access to essential IT equipment that would otherwise be unavailable.

How We Support FEW Charity

We support Reusing IT in four simple ways:

  • Donating laptops and desktop computers via organised container shipments
  • Personally delivering equipment when it adds value and reliability
  • Direct involvement from Jack Bannister, who travelled in 2023 and 2024 to deliver laptops and computers in person

This hands-on approach ensures equipment arrives safely, is usable on arrival, and delivers immediate educational benefit.

Supporting Schools and Local Communities

In addition to our long-term charity partners, Rapid IT regularly supports:

  • Donating laptops and desktop computers via organised container shipments
  • Personally delivering equipment when it adds value and reliability
  • Direct involvement from Jack Bannister, who travelled in 2023 and 2024 to deliver laptops and computers in person

These donations are logged and published as individual impact stories, detailing:

  • What was donated
  • The quantity
  • Who received it
  • The outcome

Transparency and impact reporting

We believe charitable impact should be visible and measurable.

Alongside this page, we maintain an Impact & Donations feed where we publish:

  • Individual donation records
  • Equipment quantities (e.g. “10 laptops donated”)
  • Beneficiary names (where permitted)
  • Short comments explaining the impact

This ensures our customers, partners, and stakeholders can see exactly how retired IT equipment contributes to social good.
