BCD Logistics needed competitively priced IT hardware with modern operating systems, low failure rates, and the flexibility to source equipment at very short notice. It was equally important that any replaced devices could be securely and sustainably recycled.
Rapid IT supplied cost effective refurbished desktops that met BCD’s operational needs, often providing same day collection or next day delivery when urgent hardware was required. In one instance, a critical staff member’s PC that had been in use for several years failed at 1pm and a replacement desktop was collected by 4pm, restoring operations within just three hours. At the same time, outgoing devices were collected and recycled through Rapid IT’s recycling service.
Over the last six years, this approach has helped BCD Logistics save an estimated £63,000 compared with buying new hardware while avoiding around 36 tonnes of CO2e.
