Digital Learning Day 2026

On the 26th of February this year, Digital Learning Day exists to shine a light on how technology supports teaching, learning, and opportunity. It focuses on access, inclusion, and making sure no student is left behind simply because they lack the tools to further themselves.

Across the UK, the digital divide is still a very real challenge. Too many pupils lack reliable access to devices at school or at home, limiting their ability to learn, revise, collaborate, and build the digital skills they will need for the future. Bridging that gap is not just about technology. It is about fairness, opportunity, and long-term outcomes.

Why Digital Access Matters More Than Ever

Over the past few years, digital learning has become central to how schools operate. Assignments, revision materials, safeguarding systems, and communication with families all rely on technology. When schools do not have enough devices, or when equipment is outdated and unreliable, it affects teaching time and learning outcomes.

When students do not have access to suitable devices, they are immediately at a disadvantage.

Making Digital Learning More Accessible

One way schools are tackling this challenge is by turning to refurbished IT hardware. High-quality refurbished devices give schools the chance to equip more students without the cost of buying brand new, helping them move closer to equal access across classrooms and year groups.

When refurbished properly, these devices are reliable, secure, and fit for everyday learning. For many schools, this approach makes digital learning sustainable long term rather than a short-term fix.

Through our work with schools, colleges, and multi-academy trusts, we see how increased access to devices directly supports engagement, confidence, and consistency in learning. Technology becomes a tool that enables teaching, not a barrier that needs constant workarounds.

Our Impact in Schools

Through our work with schools, colleges, and MATs, we have seen first-hand the difference access to the right technology can make.

By supplying refurbished devices and responsibly reusing IT equipment, we help schools:

  • Stretch their budgets further
  • Reduce e-waste and environmental impact
  • Provide students with reliable tools for learning

Devices that might otherwise sit unused or be recycled are instead tested, refurbished, and put back into classrooms where they can support learning for years to come. This creates a positive cycle that benefits students, schools, and the environment.

Sustainability and Social Value Go Hand in Hand

Digital Learning Day is also a chance to reflect on how sustainability and social value connect to education.

Extending the life of IT equipment reduces carbon emissions, cuts down on landfill, and supports a more responsible approach to technology. At the same time, it helps schools access the resources they need to deliver modern, inclusive education.

For schools under pressure to demonstrate both educational outcomes and environmental responsibility, refurbished IT supports both goals.

Looking Ahead

Bridging the digital divide will not happen overnight, but progress is made every time a student gains access to the tools they need to learn, explore, and succeed.

On Digital Learning Day 2026, we are proud to support schools by making technology more accessible, more affordable, and more sustainable.
